Register of Private Columbaria - Part I: Licence


(Advice to Consumers: To protect your interest, you are advised to buy private niche interment rights directly from the licensee and ensure that all the amounts you are required to pay have been clearly stated in the sales agreement. The consumers should carefully consider the possible financial risks involved with lump sum prepayment for interment rights for a long period.)

(Remarks: - Under "the Private Columbaria Ordinance" ("the Ordinance"), the validity period of a licence must not exceed 10 years. For details, please refer to section 15 of the Ordinance
  - For specified conditions under the Ordinance, the agreement for sale of interment right is not enforceable against the purchaser, and the purchaser may issue a written cancellation notice to the seller to cancel the agreement. These specified conditions include the sale of the interment rights by the seller beyond the term of the lease / the short term tenancy / the private tenancy held for the private columbarium. For details, please refer to sections 49 to 50 and Schedule 4 to the Ordinance.
  - All licensees are subject to the condition imposed on the licence by the Licensing Board on the cooling-off period of 14 days.)

Licensee is only permitted to sell the interment rights of the niches within the columbarium room named as “Columbarium A (Ground Floor), Columbarium B (Ground Floor), Columbarium E (First Floor), Columbarium I(Portion) (Second Floor) and Columbarium J(Portion) (Second Floor) only”.

Register of Private Columbaria - Part III:Temporary Suspension of Liability (TSOL)


At present, no TSOL has been issued.

  1. Non-pre-cut-off columbarium

This register is provided for the public’s information pursuant to Section 47 of the Private Columbaria Ordinance (Cap 630). The main purposes of this register are to enable members of the public to ascertain whether a private columbarium holds a specified instrument (licence, exemption or temporary suspension of liability) which is in force under the Private Columbaria Ordinance and to have access to some major particulars of the specified instrument.
