The Food and Environmental Hygiene Department (FEHD) is organising an Anti-mosquito Campaign in 2021 in collaboration with other government departments. The theme of the Campaign is 'Prevent Japanese Encephalitis and Dengue Fever Act Now'. The Campaign is implemented in three phases. The first and second phases were conducted from 22 February 2021 to 19 March 2021 and from 19 April 2021 to 18 June 2021 respectively. The third phase will be conducted from 9 August 2021 to 29 October 2021.
Aims
- To heighten public awareness of the potential risk of dengue fever, Zika virus infection, Japanese encephalitis, chikungunya fever and other mosquito-borne diseases;
- To encourage community participation and forge close partnership of government departments concerned in mosquito prevention and control work; and
- To eliminate potential mosquito breeding sites.

- ‘Let's break through the Anti-mosquito Labyrinth’
(Trade Promotion Competition Licence No. 54695)A game named ‘Let's break through the Anti-mosquito Labyrinth’ is organised to encourage Hong Kong residents to actively participate in mosquito prevention and control. The participation form can be downloaded here.

- The Department will launch a series of mosquito elimination operations in districts in collaboration with other Government Departments.
- During the campaign period, staff of the Department will follow the working programme to approach potential mosquito breeding places to carry out anti-mosquito prevention measures and to give technical advice to the public.
- A variety of educational leaflets and posters will be distributed to the District Environmental Hygiene Offices of the Department and other Departments (Including Home Affairs Department, Lands Department, Labour Department, Social Welfare Department, Agriculture, Fisheries and Conservation Department, Marine Department, Housing Department, Environmental Protection Department, Department of Health, Leisure and Cultural Services Department, Highways Department, Architectural Services Department, Hospital Authority), District Councils, schools, property management offices, owners’ corporations, mutual aid committees and building contractors for display and/or distribution.
