To: Licensees/Persons-in-charge of Swimming pools

Reminder on Strict Adherence to Prevention and Control of Disease
(Requirements and Directions) (Business and Premises) Regulation (Cap. 599F)

In view of the development of the COVID-19 epidemic, persons responsible for operating a Swimming pool are urged to strictly comply with the requirements and directions laid down in the Prevention and Control of Disease (Requirements and Directions) (Business and Premises) Regulation (Cap. 599F) and remind customers patronising their Swimming pools to comply with the various anti-epidemic regulations and restrictions, including the requirements on group gatherings and wearing of masks.

"LeaveHomeSafe" Venue QR Code

According to the press release on 24 November 2020, a person responsible for operating scheduled premises including Swimming pools must apply for "LeaveHomeSafe" venue QR code for the Swimming pool from the Government website on or before 2 December 2020 and display the venue QR code at the entrance of the premises or at a conspicuous spot within two working days upon receipt of the venue QR code.  (Details at item 4 of Annex 1.)

To facilitate responsible persons for carrying onSwimming pool who have not yet applied for the LeaveHomeSafe" venue QR code, this Department and the Office of the Government Chief Information Officer have made special arrangements to simplify the application steps.  The details are as follows:

  1. Enter the "LeaveHomeSafe" dedicated website (https://www.leavehomesafe.gov.hk/en/registration/599F/)[Note] for applying for a venue QR code in respect of catering premises / scheduled premises pursuant to Cap. 599F;
  2. Fill the FEHD licence number in the appropriate box and then click the "Confirm" button;
  3. Verify the relevant information (including shop name and address).  If you have not provided the shop name to this Department, enter it in the box provided; After clicking "I have read and agree to the personal information collection statement" and "I am not a robot", then click "Confirm" button; and
  4. Click the "Download" button download and save the "LeaveHomeSafe" venue QR Code.

The above simplified procedures will take effect from 0:00 am on 27 November 2020.  For those who are not able to use the simplified procedures for their venues, it is advisable to follow the website instructions to submit an application by using the existing venue registration function.

Enclosed below for your reference.

  1. Cap screens on the relevant steps are set out in Annex 2.
  2. If you have any enquiries about downloading the "LeaveHomeSafe" venue QR code, please contact the environmental hygiene office for the district where your premises are located. The contact information of the district environmental hygiene offices is provided at Annex 3.

For continuous upkeep of environmental hygiene, Swimming pool operators must ensure cleanliness of premises and food safety in a concerted and persistent manner.  This Department will take stringent enforcement actions against offenders in defiance of legislation on environmental hygiene and food safety.
