The Food and Environmental Hygiene Department (FEHD) performs a wide range of duties, from food surveillance and control to the issue of licenses, including those for food business, and the provision of environmental hygiene facilities and services. It also disseminates food safety and environmental cleanliness messages through publicity and education.

With an establishment of some 11,390, the Department delivers its services through the Centre for Food Safety, the Environmental Hygiene Branch, the Administration and Development Branch and the Private Columbaria Affairs Office.
