Dear Sir/Madam,
Latest Directions under Prevention and Control of Disease
(Requirements and Directions) (Business and Premises) Regulation
Further to our letters of 28 March, 9 April, 23 April, 6 May and 21 May 2020 on the captioned subject, I hereby notify you that, the Secretary for Food and Health has issued the latest directions through notices published in the Gazette of 2 June 2020, to impose latest requirements, amongst others, on all catering businesses to be effective for 14 days from 0.00 a.m. on 5 June 2020 till 18 June 2020. Please note that the directions imposed under the said Regulation below is applicable to you as a market tenant.

tables available for use or being used by customers within any catering premises must be arranged in a way to ensure there is a distance of at least 1.5 m or some form of partition which could serve as effective buffer between one table and another table at the premises;

no more than 8 persons may be seated together at one table within any catering premises;

a person must wear a mask at any time within any catering premises, except when the person is consuming food or drink on the premises;

body temperature screening on a person must be conducted before the person is allowed to enter the catering premises; and

hand sanitizers must be provided at any catering premises for any person at the premises.
Our staff will implement the relevant measures in public markets in accordance with the above instructions. The government appeals to market stall tenants and stall operators to work together and to take appropriate action, so as to maintain environmental hygiene and to ensure cleanliness and food safety.
In addition, this department also appeals to all related food business proprietors and food handlers to observe that apart from paying attention to the social distancing for staff or customers within the premises, you should also pay particular attention on the personal, food and environmental hygiene.
