【FEHD Dedicated Team Log: FEHD takes strict enforcement action: zero tolerance for non-permitted food premises】
The FEHD launched a one-week targeted enforcement operation yesterday to crack down on food premises admitting dogs without valid permission. We are actively gathering intelligence and will continue to take strict enforcement action over the next few days.
Immediate prosecution for persistent non-compliance
Should there be instances of persistent non-compliance by food premises despite repeated warnings, the FEHD will institute prosecutions immediately with no tolerance!
Members of the public should also abide by the law
Members of the public who bring dogs into non-permitted food premises also commit an offence. The FEHD does not rule out the possibility of taking decisive enforcement action in the next stage.
Penalties
Any food premises that allows the entry of dogs without a valid permit commits an offence, and is liable to a maximum fine of $10,000, three months' imprisonment, and an additional daily fine of $300.
Members of the public who bring dogs into non-permitted food premises also commit an offence and will face the same penalties.
