Currently, there is no vehicle access restriction in Tsang Tsui Columbarium, Tuen Mun (the Columbarium).  Due to the very limited number of parking spaces in the Columbarium, traffic congestion occurs from time to time.  On 13 and 14 March 2021, a large number of grave sweepers drove their vehicles to the Columbarium, resulting in serious traffic congestion along Nim Wan Road and its vicinity, and emergency services being adversely affected.  To avoid the recurrence of similar problems, the Government considers that traffic control has to be implemented in the Columbarium.  In this connection, the FEHD has introduced a vehicle booking mechanism with effect from 10 September 2021.  All vehicles except the authorised ones (e.g. public transport vehicles, government vehicles, etc.) are required to make advance booking via the booking system of the FEHD's website, otherwise they will not be allowed to enter the Columbarium.  The online system has started to accept bookings from the public from 8 September 2021.  Booking details are as follows:

  1. The FEHD will reserve booking quotas for niche allocatees and the registered marble contractors they engage to facilitate the deposition of ashes and installation of memorial plaques.  When making appointment for deposition of ashes and installation of memorial plaques, the registered marble contractors may also make advance booking for their working vehicles via the existing online booking system.  The information of such vehicles will be saved and no further input is required for future bookings.  If niche allocatees wish to drive to the Columbarium, they are required to make advance booking via the online booking system of the FEHD through the registered marble contractors they engage.  Registration of no more than two vehicles is allowed in each booking.  Once the booking is confirmed, the relevant vehicles are allowed to access the Columbarium at any time of the day.  Please refer to the link below for screen captures showing the booking procedures.

  2. Members of the public can also make advance booking for driving to the Columbarium to pay tribute to the deceased via the booking system 1 to 14 days prior to their visits.  The parking spaces will be allocated on a first-come-first-served basis.  The vehicles can gain access to the Columbarium during the timeslots booked only.  Please refer to the link below for screen captures showing the booking procedures.

  3. All drivers may cancel their bookings through the booking system if they are unable to visit the Columbarium on the scheduled date and time.

Additionally, starting from 25 September 2021 (Saturday), the MTR Corporation will launch a new MTR Bus Route K52A (Tuen Mun Station - Tsang Tsui Columbarium) to provide regular two-way feeder service for passengers during the opening hours of the Columbarium.  FEHD's free shuttle bus service will be ceased on the same day but the   confirmed service bookings will remain valid.  Details of the new bus route please refer to the announcement of MTR Corporation.

In view of the very limited number of parking spaces in the Columbarium, we appeal to members of the public who have not made an advance booking to go to the Columbarium by the special public bus service provided during the Chung Yeung Festival period or by the regular public bus service to be provided by MTR Corporation.

For enquiries, please contact Tsang Tsui Columbarium at 2713 1077.
