• a Hong Kong permanent resident who reaches the age of 18 on the deadline of application;
• not a current holder of any valid hawker licence;
• has not entered into any market stall tenancy agreement that remains in force at present with FEHD;
• has not participated in the Voluntary Surrender Schemes for Fixed-Pitch (Cooked Food or Light Refreshment) Hawker Licences or Itinerant Hawker Licences;
• none of his / her parents, spouse, children is a current holder of any valid hawker licence; and
• for RA, one must have been registered with FEHD as an assistant for five years or more (as at 31 January 2010).

(1)	All application forms will be vetted by FEHD. After the initial screening for eligible applicants, an open computer random number allocation process will be conducted to determine the priority of eligible applicants for pitch selection. Letters will be sent to successful applicants in batches, inviting them to attend a pitch selection interview and complete the formalities on a designated date and time. In the event that any applicants fail to come to complete the formalities on the designated date, other applicants will be invited according to their priority determined by the computer until all vacant pitches have been selected.
(2)	The open computer random number allocation process to determine the priority of eligible applicants for pitch selection will be held in late April 2010. Details will be announced on FEHD’s website (www.fehd.gov.hk) in due course.
(3)	Results of the random number allocation will be posted at the offices of the Hawkers and Markets Sections of Hong Kong Region and Kowloon Region and all District Environmental Hygiene Offices of FEHD and uploaded to the website (www.fehd.gov.hk). Applicants may also enquire about the results through the hotline 2392 5157 during office hours.

(1)	The fees for Fixed Pitch Hawker Licence (Other Classes) are as follows:
	Size Fee (a) Less than 1.1 m2 $ 4,620 per annum (b) larger than 1.1 m2 but smaller than 1.7 m2 $ 5,880 per annum
(2)	Successful applicants can select any vacant pitches offered according to their priority. No changes can be made once a pitch has been selected. If the applicant abandons the selected pitch, he /she will be deemed to have voluntarily abandoned the right to apply for a hawker licence. The abandoned pitch will be made available to other applicants according to their priority.
(3)	Successful applicants can only sell the types of commodities designated in respect of the selected pitch.
(4)	Licensees shall observe the Hawker Regulation (Cap. 132, sub. leg.), licensing conditions and other relevant legislation, and pay the fee required. The newly issued hawker licences cannot be transferred to or succeeded by any person. If a licensee ceases operation, his/her pitch will then be offered to other interested parties for application in a fair and open manner.
(5)	FEHD has not commissioned any organisation / person to receive / process applications or assist in processing applications. No one shall enjoy any convenience or privilege. No fee is payable for obtaining or submitting the application forms.
