Notes on Burial and Exhumation Service (5)

Status of Person Applying for Permit to
Remove/ Exhume Remains

Applicant must be the next of kin or the legal personal representative of the deceased, or an agent duly authorized by the abovementioned person, or a person considered by the Authority to have proper interest in the disposal of the human remains.
       
  Next of kin refers to the nearest surviving relative, such as:
       
 
(1)
  
the spouse;
       
 
(2)
  
any adult child;
       
 
(3)
   any adult grandchild;
         
 
(4)
  
the father or the mother;
       
 
(5)
  
any adult brother or sister;
       
 
(6)
   any adult child of any brother or sister;
 
   
 
(7)
   the grandparents, etc.
